The Chevrolet Corvette is a sports car family, launched June 30, 1953 in Flint, Michigan, for the American brand Chevrolet. A prototype for strictly identical lines was presented in early 1953 at the General Motors Motorama in the Waldorf-Astoria in New York.

The first Corvette already has many innovations: it was the first production car whose lines were directly from a concept car, and most importantly, it was the first production car to have a body of fiberglass.

With a sustained success, the Corvette has declined over time in various models; she is currently in the seventh generation. These models are listed from C1 to C7.

Name and Logo

The name "Corvette" of French origin, was found by Myron Scott, a photographer and art director then assistant director of public relations department of Chevrolet1. Up front, the headlights are not retractable, but the back retains the truncated stern with four large round lights. The floor is a "sandwich" compound thick balsa sandwiched between two layers of glass fiber. The big change is that the car no longer has the prefix Chevrolet Corvette is now a full-fledged brand in the GM group outside of North America.

At the level of carbon dioxide pollution, all these versions are classified as Class G, on a scale of A to G6. They reject of 290-314 g / km of CO2.
